Hello...my name is Betty..and I have created this blog..for the purpose of staying up on the progressive news affecting the GLBT community (Gay,Lesbian,Bisexual, and Transgender)...and our allies
I am a 60 year old, Puerto Rican, activist. I am a member of AtlantaPride Festival Committee and have a radio talk show, called Alternative Perspectives on WRFG..89.3fm..your station for progressive information.
Alternative Perspectives went on air..on October 3, 2006..and we air weekly, on Tuesday 7 to 8pm.
Since going on air...Alternative Perspectives has had the pleasure of interviewing numerous personalities from Atlanta and elsewhere, such as MaryAnne Adams, of Zami, Rev. Dr. Kathi Martin, Larry Pelligrini, Lobbyist, Donna Narducci, Executive Director, AtlantaPride, Zandra Conway, ITLA. We have had callins from Wayne Besen, Author of 'Bashing Back', Michelle Brown, Activist, Poet, Writer from Detroit and joins each month for 'Betty Talk' on the fourth Tuesday of month, Reid Vanderburgh, Transtherapist, and Author of 'Beyond Transition'...and monthly guest on T Talk Tuesday, third tuesday of each month. CausiticDames, Loretta Ross, Ronnda Cadle, Alice Lovelace, Doug Shipman, Dave Hayward, James Dustin, Earle Fowlkes, and so many others have joined us and shared talents and information as we move forward...
Alternative Perspectives brings you SoVo..and the Atlanta local news, News Wrap with National News, commentaries delivered by the Producer of the show..Betty...and a dynamic production team, Anare Holmes, Dionne Bates, Lakara Foster and Tracee McDaniel..all local talents and activists in their own right.
Together we strive to bring you information...and to educate the public about the GLBT community...our dreams, our hopes, and our lifes, our struggles and how the issues that are prevelent in our society intersect...and inter-relate in our daily lifes.
I personally invite you to listen in on Tuesday evenings...from 7 to 8pm...and support independent radio...Radio Free Georgia...delivering the news...as it is...no spinning...no twisting..just telling the truth...and asking the hard questions...demanding accountability from our elected officials...and participating in the process...in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.
